DRAWING PRACTICE TIPS 

It takes time & effort to become a proficient artist but drawing is a skill that can be learned and improved with practice. Here are some tips for beginners to help you get started:

PRACTICE & GOALS : The amount of time you need to practice drawing will vary depending on your goals and practice level. If you want to consider drawing as a hobby, it is still recommended to  practice drawing for at least 30 minutes to an hour every day. On the other hand, if your goal is to become a professional artist, you need to stretch your practice atleast 2 to 3 hour a day.

Drawing Practice Tips for Beginners

Improvement takes time, and it’s essential to keep practicing, even when you encounter challenges along the way. Remember that every artist starts as a beginner, and it’s okay to make mistakes or encounter setbacks. With consistent practice you’ll gradually develop your skills and start to see progress.

Experiment with different materials 

Try different pencils, charcoal, pens, mechanical pencils etc. to find what works best for you. Different materials can create different effects and textures. It will also help you to find the medium you enjoy working with the most.

Study the work of other artists

Look at the work of other artists and try to understand their techniques and style. This can help you to develop your own style and approach to drawing.

 

Use Objects & Reference Photos

Select an object that interests you. Observe the object closely & pay attention to its shape, size, texture, and other details. If you’re struggling with a particular aspect of the object, such as its texture or shading, refer to photographs or other reference materials to help you understand the details.

Ultimately, the most important thing is to practice regularly and find a routine that works for you. Experiment with different practice schedules and see what works best for your goals and lifestyle. Remember, practice makes progress, so keep at it and enjoy the process.
